This webinar will share strategies for successful preparation and online class engagement. Learn how to make the most out of Canvas, CGU’s online learning platform, in order to engage effectively with your professors and peers, and optimize your learning.

    Self-Management for Online Learning (45 minutes) | Marcus Weakley, PhD, Director, Center for Writing & Rhetoric

    In this interactive session, you will learn tools for managing your time, attention, and work habits to build and sustain your online learning capacity. Online learning brings different challenges for self-organization and focus, so you will finish this workshop with the beginning of a personalized plan to approach the upcoming semester in an intentional way.

    Online Group Collaboration (30 minutes) | Shamini Dias, PhD, Director, Preparing Future Faculty Program

    Many online courses will require group work in different forms. Group collaboration is challenging given the demands it makes on self-management, working with others, and adjusting to different work habits and styles. This is intensified in online settings. This presentation will share sound ways to successfully manage your collaborative process and work with peers in an online setting.

    In the final session, explore pathways for prioritizing your wellbeing during online learning to sustain your energy, focus, and work-life balance throughout the semester.
