    Gallery Business in 2020

March of 2020 saw the global shutdown of the world economy, and galleries, which have ceaselessly grown bigger and busier in recent times through globalization, digital revolution, and the growth of art fairs, shut their operations for the first time in decades. We speak with art dealers working with artists both established and emerging, primary and secondary market material, about new initiatives and trends in the gallery business such as: collaborative models like Gallery Platform Los Angeles, online viewing rooms, zoom talks and studio visits.

    Speakers:
    • Jeffrey Deitch, Deitch Projects NY/LA
    • Oliver Newton, 47 Canal NY
    Moderator:

Kibum Kim, Program Director, Art Business, Claremont Graduate University and Partner of Commonwealth and Council Gallery, Koreatown.
