LA Arts in the Age of Corona - CBMArts Online Conversation Series - Eric Hanks

Eric Hanks, Owner and Director of M. Hanks Gallery and President of the LA County Arts Commission, will join for the Thursday, May 21st conversation.



Eric Hanks is one of the leading representatives of Black artists through his Santa Monica gallery, M. Hanks Gallery, founded in 1988. By selling their works nationally, contributing to museum collections, and publishing catalogs, Hanks has helped create an audience and market for these artists. Hanks is currently the President of  the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Founded in 1988 by Eric Hanks, M. Hanks Gallery specializes in African American art. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, collages, assemblages and prints by some of the finest artists from the 19th century to the present day comprise the offering available through the gallery and from its extensive inventory of fine art.

"LA Arts in the Age of Corona” is a twice-weekly conversation, hosted by CBMArts at CGU, with arts leaders and artists about how the current coronavirus pandemic is changing the way we work and engage with arts, culture, politics, and each other. Our aim is to bring out the stories that matter, but also to imagine how we can make LA arts and culture stronger, more resilient, and more dynamic, as we adapt to situations on the ground, in the air, and on the horizon
