Claremont Graduate University’s Center for Information Systems & Technology (CISAT) is excited to announce an Ethical AI Hackathon event aimed at showcasing the potential of AI when guided by ethical principles.
This dynamic event invites participants to create, develop, and implement AI solutions that emphasize ethics, fairness, and social responsibility. Teams will address pressing issues related to AI bias, transparency, and accountability, working alongside industry professionals, academics, and fellow participants to build responsible AI applications. Throughout the hackathon, participants will engage in practical problem-solving, mentorship opportunities, and workshops, gaining essential knowledge about the relationship between AI and ethics. Whether you’re a developer, data scientist, designer, or policy advocate, this event offers a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the future of AI. Take on the challenge for a chance to win prizes, network with industry leaders, and present your ideas to a respected panel of judges.
Who Should Participate?
A hackathon is a creative and collaborative event where participants come together to build, design, or develop innovative solutions—usually in the form of an app, website, or tool—within a limited time.
All 7C students are welcome! Students from the Claremont Colleges are also encouraged to join. No prior experience is necesary.
Yes! The event is completely free for all participants.
Teams can have up to 4 members. You can also register solo, and we’ll help match you with a team!
No worries! Hackathons are for everyone—whether you’re a designer, storyteller, strategist, or just curious. There will be workshops and mentors to guide you.
Yes! We'll have snacks, coffee, lunch, and refreshments throughout the day.
Anything innovative! You can build software, web/mobile apps, data-driven solutions, or even low-code/no-code prototypes. We encourage projects aligned with social impact, education, and tech for good.
Projects will be judged based on innovation, impact, technical implementation, teamwork, and presentation.
Yes! Industry professionals and CGU faculty will be available to mentor and support you throughout the event.
