At this live competition hosted by the Drucker School of Management, aspiring entrepreneurs will pitch their business idea to a panel of experienced judges for the chance to win up to $10K. The finalists in the 2023 competition are made up of current students and alumni from Claremont Graduate University, Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd, and Keck Graduate Institute. Their plans aim to meet needs and resolve issues in a variety of areas, including climatology, data quality management, finances, counseling, and health services. All members of the CGU community are welcome to join us in cheering on the competitors. Attendees are also welcome to join us at the Celebration Reception after the competition (4-5pm).
Most people go back to graduate school because they are seeking a change in their life. Maybe they are frustrated with the path they are on, the job they are holding, or the role they have been playing in the world. Perhaps they want to craft a new direction, go back to work after raising children, answer a calling, or finally discover who they really want to be. No matter the conscious or unconscious reason(s), graduate school offers a rich and deep opportunity to learn, grow, become, be, reinvent, and transform. During this course, we will explore different strategies for reinventing oneself as an adult learner and purpose-driven adult. Participants will explore their values and sense of emergent purpose. They will discuss sources of stress they face in the change process and learn tools to build resilience as they walk forward into their graduate study journey. The content and tools provided in this course are part of the Create Your Future course (part of the Drucker Signature Platform) that all Drucker MBA students take during the first year of their program.
